Carol Iglesias was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, grew up in the Pacific Northwest, graduated from Olympic College in Washington State and attended The New School of Visual Concepts in Seattle. She became an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artists Guild in South Carolina and The Art Guild of Burlington in Iowa, and her work was selected for the Iowa Arts Council Traveling Show. She had a successful twenty year career as a Graphic Designer and Art Director and won numerous awards both nationally and internationally for her designs. Iglesias was awarded a prestigious Artist Residency for a month at “Les Amis de la Grande Vigne” in Dinan, France. One of her paintings was selected for the Museum’s permanent collection, on exhibition in France during 2013 & again in 2019.
Carol works with oils and the brilliant color and texture of soft pastels. Her broad background of traveling has a strong influence on her subject matter. She employs a contemporary impressionistic style and has painted “en plein air” in Brittany, Normandy, Provence, Tuscany, the Caribbean, Glacier National Park, Washington State, Virginia, Maryland, North and South Carolina, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico and California. She is an award winning artist who has exhibited her paintings extensively at galleries, museums and shows throughout most of those areas. Iglesias is a signature member of The Maryland Pastel Society, and a member of The American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and The Pastel Society of America. Her paintings are in public and private collections throughout the U.S. as well as in five countries internationally.
