Dali and Surrealism – Allen Reamer’s 2024 Art Lecture Series

Surrealism is an art style in which fantastical visual imagery from the subconscious mind is used with no intention of making the work logically comprehensible. The Surrealists included Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Giorgio de Chirico, Jean Arp, Man Ray, Joan Miro and Rene Magritte. Salvador Dali is probably the single best-known Surrealist artist. We will begin by discussing the history of Surrealism and its roots. Next, we will discuss Dali’s life and art.
