Jon McMillan is Assistant Professor of Studio Art in Ceramics at the University of Mary Washington. Before coming to UMW in 2011, he taught at the University of South Carolina. He received his MFA in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his BFA in Studio Art from James Madison University. McMillan has teaching experience from a range of universities and studios and he works in two veins — sculptural and pottery. His work has been shown nationally from New York to Texas, South Carolina to California. In 2012 he was an Artist in Residence at the Vallauris Institute of the Arts in Vallauris, France.
