Maura Harrison || Exit the Edge
Materials:
This exhibition from Maura Harrison features works that spill out of bounds of the original composition and challenge the artistic notion of "completion." A piece is finished. It is complete. Or is it? These works suggest additional aspects and paths of departure. They "exit the edge" and enter anew.
As a creator of "digital paintings" and "photo collages," Maura Harrison's works emphasize cohesiveness and integration and convey a warmth and naturalness that is unexpected in the realm of "digital" art.
Maura has exhibited works with Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts (FCCA) since 2007. A recipient of numerous awards, her most recent award was earned in the 2012 Uniquely Fredericksburg show sponsored by FCCA and the Central Rappahannock Regional Library.
Maura is the Creative Director of The Design Room, Inc. (www.thedesignroominc.com), a local information and communications design firm. She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from George Mason University, and she lives with her husband and five children in Spotsylvania County.
